Position Overview 

The Hotel Sales Manager is a fervent connector and loves engaging with people. They are responsible for developing business opportunities from all segments utilizing overnight guestrooms and function space and maximizing revenue for the hotel to meet and exceed goals.  They are responsible for generating top-line revenue from all accounts within an assigned market area or segment to meet and exceed their goals.  The individual knows the marketplace and gets to work securing business from past clients and cultivating new business contacts through multiple channels, such as telephone prospecting, digital research, virtual and in-person appointments, social media, entertaining, and written communication.  They enjoy prospecting and managing multiple targets at the same time and are passionate about exceeding business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively sells, prepares proposals and client communications, prepares contracts, and other hotel-related documentation for transient and groups.
  • Conducts hotel site tours, meets with clients at the hotel or virtually, or in their offices, when possible, to build relationships and generate business for the hotel.
  • Identify and pursue revenue opportunities from new and repeat business through individual direct selling activities, including telephone calls, property visits, market visits, networking events, and other activities as required.
  • Demonstrates initiative by taking responsibility for activities and using resourcefulness to meet challenges.
  • Utilizes available information on market trends, competition, and other sources to identify key prospective customers of the hotel.
  • Makes business decisions with reason and sound judgment, including appropriate people in the decision process.
  • Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry-related organizations and events, as needed.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum 1+ year of sales experience in hotel sales is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Hospitality or Hotel/Restaurant preferred).
  • Experience in managing/using sales automation (Delphi.fdc preferred) & PMS Systems preferred.
  • Ability to exercise effective communication, presentation, organization, time management, and listening skills.
  • Ability to perform intermediate computer functions, including MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Current Drivers’ License.
  • TIPS certification, desired, but not required.

The location of the hotel is ideal for business and leisure travelers and is just under 3 miles from Boston Logan International Airport and most Boston area attractions such as the Aquarium, Quincy Market, and the Museum of Science.

Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000
